Ironically, Conrad admits she's normally shy about showing off her body, so much so that she doesn't even wear swimsuits to the beach. Modesty is overrated, LC:
"On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I'm just petrified," says the former star of The Hills.
"A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it personally. I haven't worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years."
Although the California native and author of The Fame Game (on sale today) isn't planning a return to reality TV, she does spill some secrets about it:
"During shooting, the producers would send us quick texts telling us what to talk about ... They couldn't walk through the shot so they'd just text me, like, 'Hey, say something quick about this story line.' That's why we were always checking our phones!"
Surprisingly brilliant, Hills.
Most people would be shocked to learn that Lauren Conrad of Laguna Beach and The Hills fame is a New York Times best-selling author, several times over.
Lauren Conrad is one of those people.
“We were doing the inside cover of the beauty book I’m working on, and under ‘also by’ it listed all my other books. I was like, ‘When did this happen?’”
Three years after she made her writing debut with the L.A. Candy series, she’s back on shelves with the first book in a new trilogy, The Fame Game.
In stores tomorrow, it follows Heidi Montag-like character Madison Parker, another Audrina Patridge-like character, and two other Hollywood hopefuls.
As they star in a new spin-off series and adjust to life as reality TV stars, obvi.
There’s a soap opera’s-worth of drama, a fake-it-for-the-cameras relationship, and a whole lot of mascara-tears. How much of it did she pull from real life?
Quite a bit. The entertainment value in Conrad’s page-turners is about separating the moments based on LC’s behind-the-scene anecdotes from fiction.
What is this, 2009?
Spencer Pratt tried to make amends with Lauren Conrad on her 26th birthday via Twitter Wednesday, but the fashion designer and former Hills star isn't listening.
"Lauren has moved past all the drama," a source close to LC says. "She's focusing on her career and barely has time to interact with the people she actually likes."
"Why would she want to back in touch with Spencer Pratt?"
A fair point. Why would anyone really?
The source close to Conrad adds that "in this case, like others, she's going to continue to do what works best with Spencer and that's obviously to ignore him."
The world has apparently followed suit in the past year and a half.
Pratt, meanwhile, is broke and living at home, but says he doesn't "have a hatchet to bury" with his former co-star, who he frequently butted heads with.
"We had our differences, but the fact is that Lauren was a part of our lives, both personally and professionally," Spencer Pratt tells Us, as if anyone cares.
"After all this time, what point would there be in being angry? All I wanted to do was wish her nothing but the best in everything she does."
Sadly, that totally heartfelt sentiment fell upon a deaf Twitter account.

The lovely Lauren Conrad turns 26 today. Happy birthday, LC!
While she became famous because MTV's Laguna Beach and The Hills, the California girl is a bit of an anomaly, seeking LESS attention and bowing out on her terms.
Choosing to focus on her personal life and branch out career-wise, Lauren left a show that made her a star and has lived largely under the radar for years now.
She did top the N.Y. Times Bestseller List and continues to work as a celebrity fashion designer, but seems to content to live a lower-profile life. More power to her.

Lauren Conrad debuted her new pink hairstyle online yesterday. Awesome new 'do or awful new hue? We're biased towards all things LC, but you make the call!

This is actually not the first time LC has made an unconventional coiffure choice.
In July, the former star of Laguna Beach / The Hills dyed the ends of her hair different hues of pink and blue. Why that unusual color combo? Her fans voted for it!
"Roses are red, violets are blue," she tweeted. "The color of my hair is up to you!"

Now it's a Glee star that she's rumored to be romantically interested in.
While out at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood Saturday, Conrad was "very flirty" with Cory Monteith - and later gave him her number.
When she wasn't chatting up the cute actor, Conrad, clad in a tank top, skirt, blazer and Chanel bag, danced in her seat, chatted with friends and sipped on a cocktail.
Later in the evening, her former maybe-flame Derek Hough came by, but it wasn't too awkward as they hugged and had a friendly conversation before parting ways.
